ARC Lifestyle Support Service – where opportunities are unlimited and lifestyle is just the beginning.
ARC Lifestyle Support Service offers supported living, enabling people to live in their own home in the community. Support is provided from a few hours per week to 24hrs per day, depending on the person’s level of independence.
This is a holistic support option which assists the person to plan their whole of life activities, based on their identified dreams, aspirations and future plans. Each individual is supported and empowered to pursue opportunities for:
- Educational / vocational studies
- Access leisure activities
- Holidays
- Develop and maintain independent living skills
- Social skills
- Increase community networks and connections
The Lifestyle support services assists individuals to live independently in the community, either as co-tenants in a shared house or individual homes. The service started in 2005 and has grown to 9 supported accommodation houses. Lifestyle support works collaboratively with Disability services, Department of Children Services, Adult Guardian, Public trustees and families. We offer an individual approach to developing skills for each person, to assist them to reach their potential. Goals are developed with the service user, focusing on daily living skills, vocation/employment options and recreation. An innovation this year has been to introduce a social opportunity and skill development group program to give our service users the opportunity to connect socially with their peers.
