Service Details
The Post School Services - Adult Lifestyle Support Program (formerly known as Moving Ahead/Options Plus) is an initiative of the State Government to assist young people to make the transition from school to adult life. School leavers are assessed by DSQ and allocated an amount of funding which they can then have administered through an appropriate service of their choice. ARC Disability Services Inc. is currently administering this for a number of school leavers.
For those program participants who wish to have their funding administered through ARC Disability Services Inc. we liaise closely with both the participant and their family to ensure the support we offer is appropriate to their individual needs. We encourage participants and family members to be actively involved in the selection of their support worker, and to communicate with us freely about their changing needs and any concerns they have.
ARC Disability Services Inc. recognises the importance of maintaining links with school friends and peers. The program therefore encourages socialisation between participants who choose to be involved, by organising group projects and luncheons. This provides a creative way for individuals to enjoy additional activities and extend their support hours.
