Service Details
The ARC Respite House provides relief care to people who have disabilities and their families/carers throughout the Far Northern Region. The Residential service is based in an ordinary house in Manunda and supports families/carers by providing an opportunity for a complete break from their continuous caring role. Support is provided in the manner negotiated with family/carers and as documented in the personal detail form.

Support is tailored to meet each guest's individual needs, with usual routines and activities being continued where possible. For those guests who do not have daily activities organised, the staff on duty are able to arrange an outing or activity. All guests are encouraged to participate as active members of the household.

Up to three guests can stay at the house at one time, although an additional bed is available in an emergency situation. Each guest has the option of his or her own bedroom. There must be one member of staff on at duty at all times while the house is accommodating guest/guests, with a second member of staff working in the mornings and afternoon/evenings and peak periods. Additional staff is available depending on the requirements of our guests.
